Gametech 2010 - Defense User's Conference

Announcing “Innovations in DoD Gaming” Competition in conjunction with the Defense GameTech Users’ Conference 2011

Team Orlando is pleased to announce the Second Annual “Innovations in DoD Gaming” competition.  The competition will showcase game technology that is utilized in an innovative manner to accomplish realistic and effective military training. Winner(s) will receive recognition at the Defense GameTech Users’ Conference 2011 which will be held at the Caribe Royale All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center, Orlando, FL on March 22-25, 2011.  The winner(s) will also receive an opportunity to present the winning product at ImplementationFest 2011 to be held in August in Orlando, FL.  All DoD organizations (along with their industry partners) that have developed the creative use of game technology are eligible to submit entries.  Papers detailing innovative creation and use of products in the DoD environment will be received until January 31, 2011.

 

Evaluation Criteria and Requirements
All entries will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. The use of gaming technology and how it innovates upon the original training.
  2. How the innovative approach replaces or augments the original training.
  3. How the innovative approach has improved training.

Deadline for Entries:
January 31, 2011
Registration fees will be waived for ImplementationFest 2011 for one representative of each winning product.  Travel expenses for both events will be the responsibility of the winning organization.
NOTE:  A government/military representative from the sponsoring DoD organization must be available to accept the award for the winning entry.
